Northampton Saints have their last victory against Bristol to inspire them as they gear up to face Castres this weekend in France. Many players had helped to make a difference when the team played against Bristol. For instance, Louis Picamoles was one of the star players in that game.
It was an Aviva Premiership game where Louis was able to perform well along with other tries put in by players like Myler, Hanrahan, Wood and Haywood. Mallinder was able to make a successful goal in this game. There were other tries such as by Woodward and Fenton-Wells.
The game was held at Franklin’s Gardens where the game brought them a third victory that was not easily achieved against their rivals the Bristol team. The latter played well and obtained a bonus point as well, though they lost in the end. The team members of Bristol scored as well, but also obtained penalties. The Northampton team on the other hand, had to prevent several attempts by Bristol out of which they were unable to save several.
Hence, the team did feel frustrated many times and the win was not easy for the team. The score was high but was matched to a fair extent by Bristol. That made the game quite exciting for the fans who watched it. The Northampton team, however, played with confidence and they took on an attacking style. The defense was also solid that benefited the team and put the opposition to a disadvantage.
The team coach was proud, stating that the boys played the game as it was planned out for which the trials were successful and even though there were some gaps, they could make up for the same. As a whole, the game was difficult, but a satisfying one for the Northampton Saints at the end of the day.
