He is supposed to receive a written warning from the Rugby Football Union for attempting to distract Harlequins fly back Nick Evans from kicking a conversion. His act of shouting “push it” led to an ugly brawl in the course of the match. The Quins were not at all amused by the conduct of Ashton and lodged an official complaint. Gerard McEvilly who is in charge of the disciplinary action committee of RFU stated that Ashton’s conduct will be under scrutiny as he showed a lack of respect for his rival teammate. However a misconduct charge will not be put against the player who is ready to make hi comeback into the England international team.

Even in the controversial game against the Harlequins, he scored some magnificent tries in order to provide his team with the much important win. Ashton was a regular name in the England squad before going through a rough patch but he is determined to prove his worth with his aggressive and powerful play.
